The project: A month-long stint of pounding the fields and lanes of Sussex in my hapless and ill-advised attempt to complete a quintessentially English 5k race between two local pubs. Yes, a pint of beer awaits every finisher!
Dear Reader,
Readers of the two-day Jog log update I published yesterday will have twigged that I’ve had a couple of days away from home during which I only walked, not ran.
After arriving home on Sunday lunchtime the weather was so glorious that we decided to stay on holiday with a snatched third night away, this time at the seaside.
Yesterday afternoon I swam in the sea.
This morning I ran from the campsite for 2.65 km along the road beside the beach, and because the tide was waaaaay out, providing plenty of firm sand, I ran back along the beach itself.
The sun came out, I was hot from my run, so back into the sea I went.
IT WAS GLORIOUS! By the time I got out the tide had come a long way in, and I was very grateful for the lovely lady on the beach who kindly rescued my Crocs from the waves!
See you tomorrow. I’m not sure I’ll have the time for a run, but I’ll be posting nevertheless!
Love,
Rebecca

Running on sand is tough (I personally hate it haha) but at least being near the beach you get to go for the dip which is the best feeling after a hot run 😃
I liked how you brought history into your beach run. :).
