There's such a variety, isn't there? I really enjoy peppermint tea, and lemon and ginger (although I do fear for my tooth enamel). In winter I'm partial to strawberry & raspberry - it reminds me of hot Ribena! 🤣 SO impressed to learn that you have a tea chest! 🙌
And thank you so much for such lovely words, Luisa. Made my day! 😘
I kept on waiting for the appearance of the fellow telling you to Calm Down! But of course that wasn’t the focus of this story at all, only the resulting examples of Calming Down appearing in your life on a nice long walk. Lovely flowers - several of them things that we consider weeds - but definitely attractive. And lots of school kids in varying states of anxiety and relaxation. I gather you successfully found your way back to the campsite and Jim. I hope you had a lovely wander. Thanks so much for sharing it with us. Hugs and best wishes dear Rebecca. 🤗🤗😘
LOL, Beth! And thank you so much. Actually, 'calm down man' could have made a story in itself, but instead it was just an introduction to the calming teabag. And how funny that I didn't get lost, or see fit to write that I'd got back to the campsite without a problem! I think that young lady had made more of an impact on me than I had first thought.
I was so pleased to receive your e-mail this morning - I'm glad that your book arrived so swiftly after its 10,000 mile journey. I replied, but unfortunately my e-mail bounced back immediately. Happy reading!!! xxx
Loved this wander of yours back into fields and calm! Are the signs from the Universe brilliant at helping us find our way? A wonderful Saturday ramble for us to read-thanks for sharing your observations and plant knowledge, again. I learn so much. And I do hope you are feeling stronger again too after your walk. 💪🏻🚶♀️😀
As. a lover of peace and calm, and yet not a hippie, I so enjoyed this post.
Exhausted from husband's and self's adventure thus far, and with intermittent WiFi, just quickly - I rather like the look of Jim's book and must seek it out, I drink camomile tea and I also take St.J's Wort capsules. Even better, my dog takes CBD Oil. We're one calm family - on paper!
Love this! Manifestation is real and the universe heard you! I live in beautiful Dumfries and Galloway (if you've never visited, you should add it to your bucket list) and I walk every day with my dog. I only wish I could spend more time walking, but the rent has to be paid. My advice would be to get a dog 😊 much more effective than a teabag. ❤️
LOL Denise - thank you so much, and I love the teabag versus dog debate! Tell me, if I were to get a dog would I have to give up my tea-drinking habit? 😉
I've been to Scotland several times, but have only ever passed Dumfries and Galloway without stopping. I'll add it to my list! 😊
A great read - I love finding surprises as I walk. Only problem with this find (as a Darjeeling drinker - black, steeped for as long as possible, with no sugar) is that this so-called tea is 'SPICED CAMOMILE & VANILLA WITH ROASTED CHICORY ROOT.' There are SO many things wrong with that! ;)
Thanks, Bryan! I have to say that camomile tea isn't top of my list - I drink 'bog standard' teabag tea, and peppermint tea in between so I'm not mainlining caffeine.....!
I really don't fancy the chicory root side of things either...! 🤣
I've dabbled with Darjeeling in the past - it's pretty dark and smoky, isn't it?
It's actually light and delicate - at least, if you follow the instructions. As it's taking the place of coffee after my morning espressos, I let it steep indefinitely - often I don't take the bag out. That makes it a correct darkness, in my mind. Not smoky, though - the delicateness becomes stronger and yet there remains a lightness to it. I've only discovered this after years of trying every tea I could - Assam and Ceylon (which I like), Pu er and Lapsang Souchang (which I don't), Green (which tastes like grass - and not the nice kind) ... trial and error! But worth it in the end.
That's so interesting, Bryan - I'll think I'll have to give Darjeeling another try!
I can't bear 'stewed' tea - I'm one of those who needs to mash the teabag with a spoon until the tea is dark, dark, dark, whereas my dad will leave his to steep until it reaches the same colour. Picking up his cup by mistake is never a happy affair - it tastes like an entirely different drink - and not a nice one!
As a result, I always make my own tea when I'm at my parents' house! 🤣
Love this so much and the balance of calm and chaos that you encountered Rebecca. I think we are always receiving signs, not always so obvious! It reminds me of the time I passed a solicitors and felt the need to look up where there was a sign that said “We’re here to take the pressure off”. It was duly noted.
I'm so glad, Louise - thank you for reading! And yes to signs - I think there are so many that I don't notice, but the teabag came at such a perfect time that tuning in to such signs is now right there on my radar. 😊
Wonderful walk with you, thank you. I especially appreciate knowing the specifics around flotsam and jetsam. You've turned what you find into written gifts for us!
Very much enjoyed your tale of finding and refinding calm, Rebecca ❤️ ‘sparsely tent-freckled field’ is 👌🏻👌🏻 And a huge hurrah and congrats for your well-deserved feature publication status 🎉🥳🏵️
Bryn, that's so kind - thank you! And yes, I think you're right! We've all got an appropriately-labelled 'teabag' - in whatever form that takes! - just waiting to be found! 😊
It's so very kind of you to say so, Bruce - thank you so much! 😊

Thank you, Sarah! Sorry to hear about storms rather than sunshine - were they spectacular? ⚡️

Sabrina, thank you so much! A Saturday ramble indeed - I'm very happy that you enjoyed it! 😊

Oh Prue, I'm so glad to hear from you mid-hike! And yay to the tools of calm! Thinking of you with great envy on the trail! 😊
Back home. Alive.
Written a piece for Substack but will publish next Saturday. Busy week ahead and I must bank the wordage! Cheers and best. XXXX
Yay - hope you had a lovely time! And 'banking the wordage' sounds like a brilliant task! 😊 Looking forward to reading.

Oh no there's absolutely no reason why you shouldn't have both. My dog is quite partial to a rich tea in the evening 🤣
🤣
So lovely seeing that badge in this post! You deserve it!
Awwww, thanks Mark! And thanks again! 😁
I wondered what had happened to my tea bag.
😂

I agree, Bryan
I’m still shuddering just thinking about it.

Rebecca, I just love the way you’re able to tell a story about any small moment and make it completely enthralling.
+1 for this! Delightful small moment story.
😘
Awwww, Alison, that's really lovely. Thank you. 😊
Wonderful walk with you, thank you. I especially appreciate knowing the specifics around flotsam and jetsam. You've turned what you find into written gifts for us!
This is such a lovely comment - thank you, Julie! And thank you for reading! 😊
Great stories, loved the flowers. I remember being a teenager and running around the world.
Thank you, Scott - and wow to fabulous teenage adventures! 🙌

Thank you very much, Claire - and gosh, I'm still on cloud nine about that! 🤣🥳😁
And rightly so! 😘
*giggles*
SO good. And so true. Calm, like happiness, is always found when we stop looking or where we least expect it.
