So many topics! A terrific read, but my mind has just gone blank on everything. (Bats, photos, crossword puzzles. Nah, too late. Definitely bed time for me.) A lovely way to finish my day. Thanks so much. 🤗🤗

(Just remembered the Rubik’s cubes! I had no idea you could take the faces off each square!!)

Me neither! Hey, wait. Isn't that ...um... cheating?

LOL - it was news to me, too! And to think that my parents knew it all along, and that I was convinced that they’d always done it ‘properly’! 🤣

Awww, thanks, Beth! So lovely to have you as a reader - and I hope you had a good night’s sleep! It’s nearly 9pm here now, so I guess it’s already Thursday morning in Aus!

Just William! That's it, exactly. I knew I had seen that face before. I originally thought the photo looked a bit Alfred E. Newman-esque, but that was FAR too goofy. You nailed it, Rebecca. I found the description of you rescuing the tiny bat to be so endearing. You described it in such a way, I was envious. So lovely. Thanks for brightening my morning!

Awww, thanks, Sharron! The bat was so beautiful - I was so grateful to have had the opportunity to have been in such close proximity. They’re a protected species, so you can’t handle them - but the little thing needed help, so that was fine. xxx

Yes, Terry looks Just [like] William. Maybe he's been conning us all this time to avoid revealing his true identity. Speaking of cons, I guess technically your parents didn't cheat. They found a loophole. LOL! I still noodling the six-word review, but I must admit I feel more likely to guess this one than pretty much any of the crossword clues. So, that's encouraging!

Thanks, Elizabeth! I'm hoping that the six-word review is a little easier than the crossword clues! I HAD been going to give the answers in the footnotes, and then reconsidered! 🤣

Here are some clues:

Review 1: 🦈

Review 2: ⚪️⚫️ x lots and lots

I got the first one right away (failed to mention that), and now, with your help and a glass of wine, am fairly sure I've got the other. 🚒

I think Wikipedia should have an entry, Just Terry, to compliment Just William. I love Jim's 6 word title for Jaws (right?). Yours, I'm still thinking about . . . Lassie? Nah . . . I'll get it. The Rubik's cube and I were never ever friends. My eldest brother could work and solve Mr. Rubik in minutes without disassembling it. My eyes glazed over. (How cute that you thought you broke your Rubik's cube.) Such a fun post, RH.

Yes, Jaws! ✔️ And you’re not far off with Lassie… but that was only ONE dog. Hint, hint! 😉

I was hopeless at Rubic's Cube. If I knew you could take them apart, well I might have felt less like a failure!

What a dear little bat you describe and I'm so glad it went out into the fresh air, unharmed.

As for movies: Jaws and 101 Dalmations?

Yay Prue - you’ve got both of the titles! Perfect work! (And much more fun than cryptic crosswords, right?!) xxx

Oh gosh, me too! I don’t know why I put myself through the crosswords - not a single grid in this house is ever finished (not even close!). I have no clue - deliberate pun! - why I enjoy attempting them! 🤣
