Thank you, Tania! I had such a lovely time with this project - it was all the more fun that it wasn’t exactly planned! 😘 Gotta sneak some art in somehow! 😂
Stepping aside to artistically breathe is a fantastic concept, and the end result was as equally so. Loved this post, Rebecca, and it/you have inspired me to take an hour today or tomorrow as my schedule allows, and let loose! Your strawberries are so vibrant. I love them.
(I’ve been inspired to eat rather too many strawberries in the last few days… but heck, it’s July, they’re perfect, and there’s no better time to do so!)
Many a profound truth, here. (I also *love* those strawberries especially when the seed texture is visible - my mouth is juicing ...) You strike me as a person who KNOWS what to do, how to be cheerful - a massive skill set in itself.
The evolution of those strawberries on the page is stunning, Rebecca. I can just picture you in your arty-world, completely focused on releasing all that creativity. I loved the idea of giving writing plans a chance to breathe by not engaging with them, and by temporarily substituting an equally creative activity. I won't forget this idea. As for that strawberry swimsuit? Can't wait to see it! Excellent writing, my friend.
Oh Sharron, thank you! I thoroughly enjoyed making strawberry art. I’m looking forward to showing you my Art & Treasures 🖼️ post on Saturday (my posts are a little art-heavy at the moment!) - the strawberry swimsuits which are due to feature are just a bit of fun, and I think they’ll make you laugh! xxx
If you have room, I would LOVE to see a close up of those strawberries you featured in your last post. They were so textured and layered, I would love a near view.
I loved this so much Rebecca. Those strawberries are edible! :) I'm so happy you join us on Mondays to work on your projects. It's always a delight to see you. Thank you so much for being my writing buddy. xx
So joyful! Love your strawberries and loved this: “a measured hour to do what I wanted to do, to feel what I wanted to feel, to have fun with creativity” What a ‘shouldn’t-feel-foreign-but-doesn’t-feel-common’ novel concept 🍓
So kind, Tami - thank you! I’ve been having so much fun with my creativity since I chose to just have fun with it, rather than to put myself under any pressure to create! And I couldn’t believe how much better this arting session had made me feel about tackling other stuff. I’m so glad to have learned that! ❤️
High risk of juice dribbling down your chin, Carissa! 🤣 Thank you so much - I had such fun creating them - oh, and I might have eaten rather too many strawberries in the last few days! 😁🍓
Thought of your lovely strawberries yesterday while at a birthday party eating strawberry shortcake. (Overly stuffed myself I might add. UGH! Worth every bite.)
Love what you said about taking an artistic breather. I too decided to take a time out after the Starling Saga ended.
The Squirrel is still in the works, just taking my time to polish it more. I revisit it for a few moments daily, but something keeps holding me back from sending. When I figure that part out, maybe I’ll press “publish”. Maybe I should try going back to my own art for a bit each day.
Birthday parties require the unfettered enjoyment of such deliciousness, Gail - it’s the law! And yes, worth every bite, as you say!
Looking forward to the squirrel! I’m rather behind on my reading and commenting - it’s been a busy time - but I’m looking forward to catching up on my inbox at last this week! I thoroughly enjoy your posts. 😘
Good, good, good!! Love that you gave yourself permission (though that sounds more restrictive than I think it ought). I shared your strawberry explorations with Lindsay Cameron Wilson, and now I'm sharing hers back to you. In case you want a strawberry companion!
For a little messing around, those are simply so luscious and creamy colorful! Newsprint, fun! Simple the sweetest bit of creative art. Smart. Speaking of strawberries, my guy just dishing up strawberry rhubard pie with ice cream for us! Aren't strawberries just one of the best fruits ever. You inspire me!
Thanks so much, CJ! And oooooh, strawberry rhubarb pie - what a wonderful combination!
I love using newsprint for collaging - and other stuff - there’s something about taking the pressure off by arting with paper that’s not at all special, and seeing what becomes of it! It’s such fun when the words show through. 😁
Those strawberries are so rich. Absolutely love that you just let fly. Worth every speck of flying paint!
Oh Prue, thank you! ❤️🍓
Art and craft for the joy of it is the best way to clear your mind and keep your hands busy at the same time. Beautiful strawberries 🍓

What fun!! Go girl! Exciting.
❤️ Thanks, Beth!

Aww, thank you, Mary! Hurrah for inspiration! 🍓

Thank you for this post, Rebecca xo
Thank you so much, Sue! Sending you a virtual strawberry right here 🍓!

This is wonderful!!! Yes taking breaks and switching it up is essential!! Keep the joy!!!🍓🍓
Thanks, Sue! And thank you always for the enduring inspiration you supply! 😘
💚💚💚😘🥰💚💚💚
I want to bite into one of those strawberries. Yummy page.

This is gorgeous on so many levels! Your art is wonderful and shifting to create it the way you did is inspiring. Thanks for sharing Rebecca.
Oh Donna, you’re so kind - thank you so much! ☺️
Those 'strawberries' look good enough to eat. :).
Thanks, Olga! I've eaten TONNES of strawberries this week - you can probably see how much I've enjoyed them! ❤️😂🍓
I LOVE the idea of making plans to create in the moment, and going all in! Bonus: your creation is lovely! Brilliant, Rebecca!
Aww, thank you, Sharon! Had fun with this! 😁

Oh, how lovely! I’ve just read Lindsay’s beautiful, beautiful post about strawberry powder - thank you so much for the introduction! 😘
