I enjoy reading about how you constantly venture outside your comfort zone not because you need to, but because you -want- to. Keep at it! I know what you mean about the expectation to be good at something right away. It's something I've struggled with for a long time and it's tough to get over.
Totally agree, you should post when you want if trying to stick to a schedule is becoming a burden. Your writing will thank you for it.
Looking forward to the next installment and just keep going with the flow! :)
High expectations on ourselves are perhaps our toughest taskmaster, aren't they?
I'm certainly going to keep going - I love love love my walks, so even when I get lost I can still enjoy that side of things, and even though I'm nowhere close yet I'm nevertheless absolutely determined to nail navigation! You know, EVENTUALLY.....!!!!!
Rebecca, You made me smile, long before I got to the mention of my newsletter! This post reveals discovery, is filled with fine details and vulnerability. The writer at work! Kudos and 💕. --Mary
That’s great, Scott - thank you! I’d spotted you’re a fellow outdoor enthusiast and am looking forward to reading more of your own adventures. I’m pretty good at getting lost on foot so goodness knows how I’d cope further afield on a motorbike! :D
Lovely! Reminds me when I walked the Camino de Santiago through France and used maps.me (offline app). Can't tell you how many times I got myself off the path (and back on) with that handy app.
Thanks, Erin! For years during my struggles with getting lost I’d been complaining to anyone who’d listen that ‘maps would be okay if they only had a ‘you are here’ arrow!’ I am THRILLED that map apps have that exact thing!
Regarding footnote one- the correct British English spelling aka the correct spelling. Don't let the fact that the internet is spiritually American colour your flavour, you know?

Thanks so much, Mark!

Mary, that's great to hear - thank you so very much! :D
Another great story Rebecca. I'm glad you found your way out. You persevered. I'll look
forward to your posts whenever you want to post again.
That's so kind, thank you! :D :D :D
Rebecca, this is the first story I read, enjoyed it very much. I relate to the maps, journeys and adventures you have because of my motorcycle trips.

Brilliant piece, this, Rebecca.

And you're so right! In fact I feel a bit silly for my unnecessary need to explain!
