Ten years ago I witnessed two beautiful friends share this special moment and go on to grow in their love and tenderness for each other. It was a very very special day shared by a whole village who love and adore you both. Xxx
Happy Anniversary Rebecca and Jim❤ It sucks to have had a cold on your wedding day but in the end it makes for a better story and all you remember is the joy. Thanks for sharing this gorgeous story, I missed it the first time.
Donna, thank you ever so much! I have a giggle every time I look through our wedding pics and notice my bright-red nose! 🤣 It makes for a really fun memory!
Especially lovely to read this morning whilst fighting a summer cold and my beloved partner brings me coffee, tissues, A blanket and his love of sneezy, coughing, red nosed, glassy eyed me!
Oh Susan, I’m sorry to hear about your cold - but I absolutely love the sound of the supplier of coffee, tissues, a blanket and love! We’re lucky ladies, aren’t we?! 😊
We missed the tear, but this, my friend, is probably the most touching wedding photo I have ever seen. It seems to be a true representation of the love you share. Thank you so much for sending it to us again. Such a lovely moment!
Thanks, Julie! Gosh, your granddaughter’s about the same as me, then - and hurrah for being crew! My brother’s 6’4, just a little smaller than Jim. It’s so lovely to be with someone so much taller than I am.
I love the love, I love Jim's emotion, I love the Liberty hankies. I'm a sucker for a Liberty hankie, love hankies period. I've got a fab collection of Liberty hankies and some strange part of me colour matches the day's outfit to the hankie.
But more than anything, I really love the way you have captured the day. Simply and the artwork speaks volumes.
Oh, thank you so very much, Prue. I had been given a set of three Liberty hankies a long time ago, and one of them perfectly matched my wedding outfit. The piece of Liberty lawn in the artwork you can see in my post isn’t the same pattern - it’s an offset I found from somewhere - and for years I couldn’t find the actual hanky on which I’d captured Jim’s tear.
(Oh, gross, that sounds as if I didn’t wash it - yes, I absolutely did!!!!!!!!!)
Anyway, guess what I found a couple of weeks ago when I was turning out a drawer?! Right at the back, underneath everything else and folded over on itself so it was an odd shape, was the hanky. I feel so fortunate to have it back in my life (although the fact that it’ll always be in my memory would of course be plenty).

One thing about old gold, Rebecca. It never dulls. This is one of my favorites.
Always so kind, Mark - thank you! ☺️

Oh, how lovely, Sharron! Thank you for reading it again - I really appreciate you and your super comment. 😘
Ten years—what a magnificent number to celebrate! 🎉 Congrats on a decade!!
Thanks, Erika! 😘 We can’t believe how quickly the time has flown! I’ve enjoyed all of it.
Also, that number 10 has reminded me that as was 39 when I got married I’ve got a rather alarmingly-numbered birthday coming up later in the year! 🤣
You made a beautiful bride! Sorry you had a cold, never much fun at anytime let alone on your wedding day.
Btw my granddaughter is 6 feet tall, and is on crew at her college. I don’t think she minds being tall at all. Her brother is even taller.
Thanks, Julie! Gosh, your granddaughter’s about the same as me, then - and hurrah for being crew! My brother’s 6’4, just a little smaller than Jim. It’s so lovely to be with someone so much taller than I am.
Oh I love this!

I'm so glad you found it. Treasure it - it's priceless.
I remember loving this when I first read it. Sweetest wedding story ever!
I’m so happy that you’ve read it again - thank you, Elizabeth! 😘
Happy anniversary!
