The project: A month-long stint of pounding the fields and lanes of Sussex in my hapless and ill-advised attempt to complete a quintessentially English 5k race between two local pubs. Yes, a pint of beer awaits every finisher!
Dear Reader,
I was working for Jim today, and although another run is way overdue (I’ve got to get some kilometres under my belt, after all!) I felt I stood more chance of leaving the house on time for the shoot by exercising at home instead this morning.
I’d discovered during my 20-minute stint on the rowing machine on Friday that although it took me a while to get going, after 14-or-so minutes of constant effort I felt absolutely epic.
Wanting more of the same this morning, I programmed in a 24-minute workout.
Well, it’s all very well sliding back and forth repeatedly on a rowing machine, but it’s not very exciting: there isn’t much of a view to enjoy in our conservatory, given that the machine only fits in one place.
So, what might be a nicer view than a wall of flagged blinds?
Reader, I had the answer. By putting on a YouTube video demonstrating something I’d love to learn, I could exercise my body and my creative brain at the same time.
This is what I picked:
Subtitles were helpful, because thanks to the noisy machine I wasn’t able catch every word that tutor Toby had to say, but golly gosh, I absolutely loved this tutorial.
Disappointed that my 24 minutes of rowing had whizzed by so fast, I’ve decided that next time I’ll go for 30!
Love,
Rebecca

I almost thought the title of that video was 'Urban Stretching On Location'.
Then I reread it.
All clear now. :).
