The project: A month-long stint of pounding the fields and lanes of Sussex in my hapless and ill-advised attempt to complete a quintessentially English 5k race between two local pubs. Yes, a pint of beer awaits every finisher!
Dear Reader,
I DID IT! Hereβs the proof:
Thank so much to ALL OF YOU for cheering me on!
I know itβs not about the numbers, but I am thrilled with my time! Cards on the table: Iβd been hoping for sub-45:00, and secretly desperate for sub-40:00. π
THANK YOU for keeping me accountable.
THANK YOU for cheering me on.
THANK YOU for not allowing me to doubt myself for a second.
Thereβs more of this story to come in a forthcoming Saturday post!
Love,
Rebecca

Well done. But you could have reduced the time still further by getting a taxi once out of sight of the start, and getting dropped off just out out of sight of the finish. #missedopportunity
Belated congratulations Rebecca! Life has kept me away from my reading this week so I'm just getting to it now. Well done coming in below your most hoped for goal. Running a race is very empowering, it allows us to stretch and push past our edges. I hope the ale tasted extra good with that victory!
